Who Deletes Facebooks Profile
May 30, 2008
Facebook profile, my space profile, infact there are lots of social network site profiles. I recently read an very interesting article about profile sites, and what happens to ones profile page when one dies Unexpectedly. No one can view private profiles this eliminates profile snatchers as in identity theft. So is it the responsibility of the profile editors? Or do family and friends take it upon themselves to inform the social network website?
“But what happens if you don’t want to keep your online profile after you die and what if your family don’t have access to your password to make a removal request? Are friends meant to remove you as a friend or keep you there even though you’re no longer alive? Should people be able to post on your wall and maybe alert others who do not know that you have passed on?” “The Times”
I think maybe the webmasters and profile generators should be informed and that they should have a standard notification telling all visitors that the owner of the profile is no longer alive.
But what are the chances of them getting this information? Especially as many online persona’s are just that, persona’s.
Maybe, just maybe, these online social networks were created to ensure that we live on forever. Suddenly the theory of eternal life makes sense to me. Source “The Times“

Is Britney Spears Ok?
May 29, 2008
Lets leave Britney alone. Lets give Britney Spears myspace or me time. The concern is “is Britney Spears OK?”. Since Britney split with Sean Prestons father Kevin Federline she has been linked with a few mystery men. Britney Spears latest is her drug counselor. He is real estate investor / drug counselor John Sundahl, whom Britney has been seeing following her release from rehab.
Britney Spears insists that her relationship with drug counselor John Sundahl is purely professional — but a source tells the National Enquirer, “John’s smitten with Britney… I’ve never seen him act so ridiculous with a girl. He’s so in love with her that he’s risking his career just to keep her happy. At first, they met at his Beverly Hills house to discuss topics such as the twelve-step program — but the conversation… got intimate rather quickly. Britney and John ended up making out beside the pool and Britney acted like she didn’t care who saw her. She’s got no shame.”
Britany Spears’ Substance Abuse
Britney Spears is known for her music and iconic status with teenagers all over the world. Unfortunately, Britney Spears has also become known for her crazy antics that have been linked to substance abuse. …
Does it really matter who she is in a relationship with as long as they are happy?
It’s the way that she wants to live and it’s her prerogative.
What is it about being in the public eye and having difficulties that make for public execution? It is almost savage.
Abortion Choices
May 28, 2008
Abortion choices. The decision to fetus abortion. Is it fundamentally the mother choice? There has probably been lots of abortion cases and everyone will have an opinion on this very controversial subject. One which can evoke an ambivalence of emotion amongst both men and women. To have an abortion life decision. I have put together some web sites that hopefully give you a clearer picture.
Abortion – The Choice On BBC Two
Whether or not to have an abortion might be the biggest decision a woman will ever make, and it’s one they will live with for the rest of their lives. In the UK, more than 200000 women every year choose to go ahead with the procedure …
Many European countries allow abortion on demand up to 12 or 13 weeks in to pregnancy, after which it is limited to cases where the baby or mother is at risk. Termination is legal up to 22 to 24 weeks in Spain, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
Parliament in the United Kingdom voted on Tuesday to keep the upper legal limit on abortion at 24 weeks, disappointing campaigners who argue survival rates have improved.
MPs have rejected proposals to cut the time-limit for abortion from 24 weeks to 22 weeks.
How Abortion Can Affect A Relationship
One of the hot topics currently up for political debate is that of the abortion limit. MP’s are campaigning to reduce the upper limit from 24 weeks to 20 weeks due to the medical advances that have led hospitals to saving the life of a …
Many couples may need some form of talking therapy following a termination of pregnancy no matter why the decision. It can be deemed as a loss, some people will need to grieve, some may need to deal with the shame or blame that they might feel afterwards.
It affects men just as much as women too…

Abortions Right
May 27, 2008
Psychologist and abortions-right advocate Harvey Karman — who worked to make abortions affordable, safe and accessible. Died of a stroke on May 6 age 34 at Cottage hospital in Santa Barbara, California. Karmen helped to enforce the current law on abortion that we know today, he also developed the movement of the human rights abortion.
Karman became interested in abortion in the 1950s while conducting research as a graduate student at the University of California-Los Angeles on the emotional aspects of the procedure. He established an abortion referral service while the procedure was banned in California and eventually began performing abortions. He later spent two-and-a-half years in prison for performing illegal abortions.
During his career, Karman also helped women obtain abortions in Mexico and traveled to Bangladesh to perform abortions for rape survivors and to train physicians to deliver the operation effectively. In addition, Karman advocated for women’s rights and access to safe abortions in India and China. Karman was responsible for saving the lives of countless women throughout the world.
Although some would say that he used these women as guinea pigs to develop his techniques and to test out the coil which he had invented.
In the early 1970s he developed a soft, flexible tube, or cannula, for a device that was widely adopted in the United States and developing countries to perform early abortions. He freely demonstrated its use for doctors and other …

Victims get listening ear
May 22, 2008
Recently the most powerful and largest earthquake to hit China in 30 years, registered at a magnitude of 7.9, has killed at least 10,000 people in the south-western Sichuan province. Why do earthquakes happen? Earthquake causes are usually when rock underground suddenly breaks along a fault. This sudden release of energy causes the seismic waves that make the ground shake these are the earthquake effects. When two blocks of rock or two plates are rubbing against each other, they stick a little. They don’t just slide smoothly; the rocks catch on each other. The rocks are still pushing against each other, but not moving. After a while, the rocks break because of all the pressure that’s built up. When the rocks break, we get an earthquake.
Relief from the devestating earthquake which happened in the Sichuan province last Monday will be long term, both within the quake zone and all affected areas. Psychotherapy will help quake-zone migrants deal with the devastation and trauma that this has caused.
“Students from the psychology institute have organized three relief groups for students from the quake zone. We will join Beijing’s other universities to allocate a psychotherapy notebook to people who need psychological support, to help them overcome the horror of the earthquake,” said Chen Zhirong, a student of Beijing Normal University.

Smoking ban Solutions
May 20, 2008
The smoking ban legislation came into effect July 2007, that is with exceptions of prisons and mental health secure units. Recently this smoking ban law was re-evaluated to include mental health secure units. Do mental health workers get paid to be smoking ban enforcement officers? I can understand their anti smoking ban and reluctance to operate under these smoking ban rules. The government may seriously need to explore some smoking ban solutions.
” Would you want to tell a 6ft psychotic man that he cannot smoke, then try to enforce it upon him……?” Mental health worker. Rampton Hospital.
Smoking is very much a coping mechanism amongst mentally ill people.
Apparently the government want to gradually encourage the smoking enforcement throughout all secure units and eventually all prisons to come in line with smoking ban in public places policy.

Blogging Is The New Therapy
May 19, 2008
”Blogging Can Act as a form of Alternative Therapy”
I came across this statement the other day, that raised a very interesting subject. That blogging is a new alternative therapy, so by accessing blogging guides, learning blogging tools and getting active on blog sites we can heal ourselves.
“Writing long has been considered a therapeutic outlet for people facing problems,” Reports CNN
More people are turning to blogging as a form of psychotherapy, proving long-held beliefs in the healing power of writing and group therapy.
Approximately 12 million Americans are now blogging, and more and more of them are using the pastime as a therapeutic means of recording, sharing, and understanding emotional issues.
Whether battling an illness, watching a loved one do so, or simply going through a rough patch, “emotional blogging” creates a public diary that can give people “a tangible sense of community.”
CNN states that a study was conducted in 2003 by the British Psychological Society, in which participants who wrote about “traumatic personal events” were seen to heal more quickly by writing about their situation.
Writing, coupled with readers’ comments, can steer a person through a difficult time, though experts suggest that blogging should be a complement to face-to-face therapy, not a supplement.
So… What are you waiting for….Get Writing…… Comment on my blog and help your self to help your self.
