REM sleep: Sleep comprises of different sleep stages; REM Sleep and Non-REM Sleep stages have variable levels within them. This article is about how REM sleep stage can affect depression.

It has been reported that when in REM sleep stages our dreams are quite negative. Dealing with all our negative emotions that have been evoked. REM sleep is believed to be the part of sleep which is not as nourishing as other stages of our sleep pattern, this is probably why many depressives spend alot of time sleeping.
