Depression Drugs Cause Tyler Hamilton to Re-Focus;  Apparently Tyler has had a history of depression since 2001. It is unknown as to what his depression causes are;

It has been reported that Tyler Hamilton suffers from depression – Apparently back in 2001 it was suspected the cyclist was suffering and was not enjoying his life.

As Tyler 38 announced his retirement on Friday, he admitted that it was true he was indeed suffering from depression.

Tyler stated – “This might surprise you because in the public eye I’ve had smiles and maybe wasn’t showing signs of depression, but behind closed doors it’s been a big fight for me,” he said. “It’s like having to put on a suit every day when you go outside and act different. Me in the public spotlight has been a little bit of a facade.”

The depression eventually led to Hamilton’s downfall and eventually his decision to retire.

The Boulder-based cyclist also admitted taking DHEA, a banned substance in cycling but an ingredient in Mitamins Advanced Formula for Depression, an over-the-counter herbal product.

Now retired from cycling, Tyler has decided to take time out to focus on dealing with his depression.

Maybe certain drugs need to re-evaluated within the sporting industry and re-classified in order that sportsmen and women can fulfill medical requirements and not be participating illegally- Of course their ailments would need to be verified by a practicing Doctor.
