More Sex “Symptoms Addiction” Questions
November 19, 2008
Addiction can cover a variety of addictions: “Counseling addiction”, “therapy addiction”, women and ”men addiction”. Religion, “christian addiction”, Some people can develop ”support group addiction” and, I can guess we all know some that have, “chat addiction”, but do you know What Sex Addiction is?
Just exactly what is a sex addiction?
Well contrary to popular belief, it is not, always about an insatiable appetite, or compulsive sexual thoughts and acts, but rather, about the addicts relentless chase of the object of desire and once this desire has been ‘had’, the addict is no longer interested. It can also relate to the falling in love erratically with a desired one, then falling out of love, just as quickly.
A short while ago I did a post, with questions to ask your self about sex addiction, well here are some more, feel free to indulge your self and do some serious sole searching.
1. Do you feel ashamed about your body?
2. Do you fear that you have little or no sexual feelings?
3. Does each new relationship continue to have the same destructive patterns which motivated you to leave the previous relationship?
4. Do you need more sexually exciting activities to bring you to the same level of arousal and relief?
5. Have you ever been in danger or have you ever been arrested as a result of your need to satisfy your sexual urges?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions then maybe you will benefit from some psycho-sexual therapy or Addiction therapy.
Don’t worry you are not alone, there are lots of people who suffer some kind of addiction and you can learn to be free of your addiction, just like lots of others have too.

The F Word
November 14, 2008
The “F” word. The “T” word. The “B” word. There are numerous swear words. Swearing in general, what are your opinions?
Given the right circumstances and expressed by an adult, some would say that swearing can be an effective way to get your point across. Swearing can be seen as hilarious when used at the right moment by comedians.
Some would say that swearing shows a lack of intelligence, swearers are verbally retarded and insipid. Ladies should not swear or even be subject to it, it is something only men do and only when there are no females present.
Others would say that someone swearing is emotional and that they feel really strongly about what they are expressing. Alternatively if someone swears all the time it can become pointless, boring and offers no impact whatsoever.
Sex and swearing can be seen as very similar; People desensitise to both sexually explicit material and swearing. After the initial exposure it loses it’s shock value and can become unexciting, the same can be said about swearing, becoming monotonous and dull.

November 6, 2008
“Suicide help” can help to prevent an unnecessary end.
Believe it or not there are web sites that inform people “how to commit suicide”, so it would make sense for there to be sites that help people to STOP commiting Suicide.
There is help out there. If you are feeling suicidal please click on this and read it.
1. Most people, who commit suicide don’t want to kill themselves, they just want the pain to end.
2. In most cases, the underlying emotional, personal or relationship problems seem so hopeless and untreatable at the time that this is what motivates the suicide.
Dr. David Jobes, a suicide expert and associate professor of psychology at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. states that “The person is trying to escape unbearable pain, and that’s different from wanting to die”.
“The vast majority have a diagnosable and treatable mental disorder most commonly, depression or alcohol/drug abuse and PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder)”.
“Suicidal crises are often transient. If you can get help, you can go on with your life. Reaching out for help is central.”
• Suicide occurs every 17 minutes in the US, that is equivalent to 85 every day. Suicide is the 9th leading cause of death.
• Men tend to take their own lives more than females approximate ratio 4-1.
• Over 60% of suicides are committed with firearms
Research into this extremely sad problem is very difficult infact impossible because the subjects are unavailable, they’re dead.

5 Tips on Increasing your Energy
November 4, 2008
In today’s stressful world, we can regularly experience flagging energy levels.
Improving your diet, can so easily intensify and increase low energy levels and help to reduce the feelings of fatigue. Fatigue can so easily lead to feelings of stress, anxiety and, if we allow it, depression. Did you know that fatigue is our body’s way of telling us to slow down.
1. NEVER skip breakfast! We all need to make sure that we eat well. Proper nutrition, helps us to maintain our optimum energy levels. Grabbing a piece of fruit, a piece of toast or a handful of unsalted nuts can be much better than skipping the most important meal of the day.
2. Allow yourself to feel your emotions. If we switch off from our emotions, we can become stuck. Suppressing and re-suppressing our feelings might work in the short term, but it does have its own emotional price, and will, most definitely deplete your energy levels. Remember that ‘what we resist persists’. You can learn to express your self in a healthier way.
3. Exercise regularly: You don’t need to join a gym. Walking is an excellent way of keeping fit and does not cost anything except time, 20-30 minutes a day and you will notice a great difference in your energy and well being.
4. Learn to pace yourself: When we try to get everything done all at once, we set ourselves overwhelming and unrealistic tasks. Prioritize. Make a list of what is important and work your way through it. The sense of achievement will be fantastic.
5. Develop a positive mental attitude. Talk positively to yourself. Get in the habit of smiling to your self on a regular basis and notice how infectious this really can become.
Allowing your self to get stressed out can cause an immense drop in energy levels. check out some handy tips on stress management.
Go ahead try some of these tips and let me know how you get on…I’m Listening…
Are You Showing Signs of Addiction to Texting?
October 30, 2008
Are you showing signs of addiction to texting: “How addiction” to texting can become a major problem; Phone addiction can in-fact evolve into “addiction abuse”, texting mobile could result in suffering from a mental illness; Read on to find out if you are showing signs of addiction to texting:
“Texting is fast becoming the way we communicate. Young or old, we are all getting busy with our thumbs”.
Some psychiatrists are diagnosing obsessive texting as a mental illness. According to an article in the ‘American Journal of Psychiatry’, texting too much during the day could probably cause you to develop a texting addiction.
There are four signs of addiction to texting:
- Excessive use (neglect day to day activities)
- Withdrawal ( feeling depressed when not accessible)
- Tolerance (over texting)
- Negative repercussion ( social isolation)
Various market research companies also reckon that young people under the age of 25 will spend close to £3.5 billion on text messaging, this year alone.
“Something that was once convenient has now become an addiction”.
The American Heritage Dictionary defines ‘addiction’ as “The condition of being habitually or compulsively occupied with or involved in something.”
Texting addiction can be deemed as a sign of infidelity?
So… how do you STOP?
1. “Quitting a long-standing habit is hard enough. So make sure you can get positive reinforcements from friends and family”. “Set yourself boundaries; limit the amount of time you spend texting.
2. “Animal trainers have long known that the way to train or retrain an animal to do something is by giving them a small reward when they have done well. This theory works well with humans as well. So give yourself frequent rewards”.
3. “Substitute a bad habit for a healthy new one”.
4. Self-motivation is vital to quitting a bad habit or an addiction. Do not start trying to quit a behavior or addiction because everyone else wants you to, “You must want to quit for YOURSELF”.
5. “Reduce your stress levels, exercise more, practice yoga or meditation. These can all be learned via video/ DVD”.

Marriage Counselor
October 28, 2008
I thought I would offer you some humour today, I know you will appreciate.
A husband and his wife went to see a male marriage counselor.
The counselor firstly asked the wife “what was her perception of the problem?”
The wife replied “My husband does not show me any affection, I do not feel loved, and I feel neglected”
At this point the counselor walked over to the wife and kissed her passionately. He then turned to the husband and said “this is what your wife needs 3 times a week”
The husband responded “I can drop her off Mondays and Wednesdays but I can’t on Friday because I play golf ” …
This has been a light hearted joke, but on a more serious note marriage counselors and marriage and family therapists are extremely helpful in keeping families and relationships together.

Treatment of Obsessive Disorder in Children
October 23, 2008
Treatment of Obsessive Disorder in Children. Compulsive and Obsessive OCD symptoms in children has up until recently not been evidence based. OCD in children needs to be diagnosed earlier rather than later due to the debilitating effects, if carried through to adulthood.
Few research studies have focused on treatments specifically geared to children suffering with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Recently a new study from the Bradley Hasbro Children’s Research Center provides some of the first evidence based data on a successful intervention for early childhood OCD. Children as young as 5 years old are now diagnosed with this disorder.
Children between the ages of 5 and 8 years old are treated with a form of psychotherapy, a family based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Uniquely tailored to the child and families needs. The overall process is to equip both the child and family with tools to help understand and reduce the symptoms of OCD.
Clinical considerations and recommendations:
- Treatment of children experiencing early childhood-onset OCD will be most effective if parents are involved in all phases of treatment.
- Clinicians should consider the child’s unique developmental characteristics and tailor psycho-education, exposures and homework accordingly.
- Clinicians should take time to understand the family context and, in particular, the parents’ response to their child’s anxieties.
- Teach parents to tolerate their own anxiety about their child’s level of distress.
- Use humor generously.

Could Cosmetic Surgery Cost You, Your Marriage?
October 20, 2008
Could cosmetic surgery cost you, your marriage? Plastic surgery breast implants, a cosmetic procedure, that is a costly act and one that could cost more than you bargained for. Apart from the financial expenditure, reports say that the cost of cosmetic surgery especially, plastic surgery breast implants, could lead to a marital breakdown.
Specialist law firms claim that the most commonly cited signs of infidelity (within women) was a sudden devotion and concern with how the woman looks: Wrinkles, breast size or shape, waist-line etc…
Naturally for a woman, her breasts will eventually head south, she may consider having plastic surgery breast implants. Does it seriously mean she is having an affair?
So where does this line of reasoning leave Peter Andre, who allegedly encouraged his wife Katie Price (aka Jordan) to have plastic surgery breast implants to reduce the size of her boobs?
Husbands apparently feel that a wife who has improved her looks with surgery can not possibly still find him attractive. Jealousy and suspicions can creep in: surely there must be someone else.
Cosmetic surgery is no longer the well kept secret of a few. Most recent figures show that breast enlargement remains the most common procedure for women.
Meanwhile, husbands should relax, it’s mostly a win-win situation. Women are having surgery mostly for their own sakes, which includes feeling sexier with their chosen partner.
Unless of course there are other issues that lie under the surface, one’s that are avoided at all cost. That is, until it is too late.
