Does depression and anxiety reside within both your body and your mind?

“I am a great believer in the mind – body connection and have for quite some time implemented this way of treating patients as a whole person and not just treating the symptoms that they present with. Emotions that are unexpressed and unresolved often manifest within the body, eventually causing dis-ease.

I am not expecting you to believe in this but to just consider this model for a while.

I would like to offer you some insight into how certain emotions could possibly affect certain organs within your body. Please take the time to read this article and allow your self to digest the information and let me know what your thoughts are by submitting a comment in the box below or if you prefer simply click on the facebook like button and help spread the word…” [click to continue…]

‘Qi-gong’heals’ energies.

Have you heard of QI Energy?

Qi gong is the Mandarin Chinese term used to describe various Chinese systems of physical and mental training for health, martial arts and self-enlightenment.

The dictionary definition for the word “qi” usually involved the meaning of “breathing”, “air”, “gas” and “vapour” but it can also be used in the context of describing the relationship between matter, energy and spirit. The dictionary definition for the word “Gong” (功) is that of achievement or results. The two words are combined to describe systems and methods of “energy cultivation” and the manipulation of intrinsic energy within living organisms.

Qi gong is considered to be part of alternative medicine, with positive effects on various ailments. Some researchers are sceptical of some of the claims for qigong and label the subject matter a pseudoscience. In addition, the origin and nature of qigong practice has led to misconceptions and misuses.] The abuse of qigong practice had led to the formation of cults and potential psychiatric problems.

Source: Wikipedia

Qi-gong pronounced – Chi-con which basically means – Energy work. According to this school of thought – Our physical organs resonate to certain sounds, there are 6 different sounds which relate to certain organs within the body; Shhhh! Awhhhh! Whooo!! Sssss! Chooo! Heeee! and these all relate to the elements of air; earth, fire, water, wood and metal.

One of the keys to good health is to become aware of the emotional energies that reside in the organs, and to transform the negative emotional energies into positive virtues.

Quantum Biologist: How to Attract Anything to You
by Carol Hathor – Personal Transformation Facilitator & Founder of Soul Wisdom Energy Transformation.

1. Remember a time or event when you felt VERY happy, excited, or joyful.

2. Once you’re in this high vibration energy and feeling that happiness, excitement or joy again, THEN start thanking the Universe for having ALREADY provided your wish come true.

3. As you give thanks for your wish having already come true, imagine what this wish feels like, smells like, and tastes like. What are you doing when this wish comes true? Who else is there? See and hear what is happening around you. Put in the details of your wish.

4. Remain in this high energy, feeling thankful that your wish has come true for a minimum of 17 seconds each time you do this (this is needed to combust the energy) and a total of at least 68 seconds per day (this is the daily minimum needed to manifest your wish).

5. ALLOW your wish to come true. Whenever you hear any negative thoughts about your wish coming true, say out loud: “Cancel. Clear.” Then substitute a positive thought like “Of course the Universe wants to bring me my wish!” Suspend your disbelief and allow your wish to come true. Two things to remember:

1. NEVER ASK for anything or say you need or want something. Those words indicate you lack it and you are only reinforcing the fact that you don’t have it. ALWAYS thank the Universe for having ALREADY provided it.

2. Whenever you put yourself in the high energy, and thank the Universe (or whatever word you use) for having already provided this wish, you are activating the timeline where this occurs. You are also “stepping on the gas” and telling the Universe to send it to you. Whenever you have negative thoughts about getting it, you are “stepping on the brakes” and telling the Universe NOT to send it to you. Be careful to ALLOW it to happen by cancelling those thoughts. In essence, whenever we are feeling joyful about our wish coming true, we are activating the timeline where it occurs. Likewise, whenever we feel dread, fear, etc, we are activating the timeline where our fears are manifested. We are literally doing this from moment to moment. So be happy and joyful and choose a positive timeline! Your wish will come true. Have fun manifesting. You can use this for anything, anytime. Just be clear about what you want.

“To become unlimited is to be without fear, without guilt, without hate, without bitterness. To become unlimited means you can love no matter what you see before you.

“Penetrating the deeper mind for more permanent and complete releases of unconsciously-held emotional terrors, guilt and unworthiness — the source-attitudes of virtually every emotional discomfort and physical disease.”

Thank you Carol.

Is ‘silence’ golden?

What’s the point of talk therapy without the talking?

There are many strategies to help you to “open up” and to talk more freely while in psychotherapy. Here are a few.

1. Write it down.
One of the easiest ways to help overcome your fear or inability to talk in therapy is to write down some things that are important to you to talk about before session.

2. Let the therapist guide you.
A psychotherapist’s main job is to act as a guide in your recovery and healing process. They are not there to give you all the answers, but help you find your own way to those answers

3. Reset your expectations.
Some people believe you need to go into your weekly therapy session with a “topic” to discuss. While sometimes that may indeed be the case — especially if the therapist has given you “homework” on a specific topic – Sometimes it can be helpful to discuss events leading up to your session; anxieties; expectations; and just general feelings in relation to being in therapy.

4. Think of your therapist as the closest confidante you can share anything with.
Therapists are someone you can share almost anything with (except for some things that are illegal, like murder, or suicide and child protection issues). That is a part of the special joy of a psychotherapy relationship. Here is a person you can tell anything to, and they won’t judge, insult or berate you, but they will encourage you to be honest with them and if that proves difficult, at least to be honest with your self.

5. One last thing –
Silence is okay once in a while too. Although for most of us, an extended silence between two people engaged in a conversation can be uncomfortable, it’s something you can learn to become comfortable with in time. Therapists often won’t rush in to fill the silence, because most are comfortable with it. Don’t feel the need to say something just to fill the void, either. Give it some time, and perhaps you will find the words.

Have  ’confidence’ that ‘hypnosis’ will help cure your fears.

Hypnotherapy is often successful with phobias as it tries to address the root of the problem. There are numerous phobias that exist in human nature; Fear of flying; Social phobia and social anxiety; Fear of public speaking and fear of having panic attacks, to name but a few.

Emetophobia – A fear of vomiting is another phobic behaviour.

Emetophobia is more common than you might think, and is often misdiagnosed as an eating disorder.

Not much is known about this phobia as it is often ‘hidden’ under other symptoms such as OCD or health anxiety. People who have it are often reluctant to engage in treatment and can go undiagnosed for years. Emetophobia can be treated

It often derives from some from of traumatic memory of vomiting, or may be part of a wider fear of losing control.

In some cases medication such as anti-anxiety or anti-nausea drugs can be helpful, but the mainstay of treatment is usually some form of psychotherapy or counselling.

Hypnotherapy treatment focuses on how symptoms of nausea and distress are maintained by your current avoidance, safety-seeking behaviours and excessive vigilance.

Hypnotherapy works on a profound level using a deep state of relaxation to highlight any unconscious memory, then with careful suggestion the hypnotherapist will desensitise you to this debilitating fear and reducing the impact that it has on you.

Can terrorism ever be forgotton?

In this climate of worldwide terrorism – what sort of union orders its fire fighters to go on strike over Bonfire Night? or at all come to think of it.

Divorce

Parenting Tips and how to help children through separation and divorce.

Do parents who divorce, think of their children?

Who supports single parents and their struggles with mental heallth?

It can be particularly difficult for parents with mental health problems and their children to get accessible, acceptable and effective support for the whole family. Different family members may present to different services and therefore it is important that services offer an open door into a system of joined-up support at every point of entry.
