The “F” word. The “T” word. The “B” word. There are numerous swear words. Swearing in general, what are your opinions?

Given the right circumstances and expressed by an adult, some would say that swearing can be an effective way to get your point across. Swearing can be seen as hilarious when used at the right moment by comedians.

Some would say that swearing shows a lack of intelligence, swearers are verbally retarded and insipid. Ladies should not swear or even be subject to it, it is something only men do and only when there are no females present.

Others would say that someone swearing is emotional and that they feel really strongly about what they are expressing. Alternatively if someone swears all the time it can become pointless, boring and offers no impact whatsoever.

Sex and swearing can be seen as very similar; People desensitise to both sexually explicit material and swearing. After the initial exposure it loses it’s shock value and can become unexciting, the same can be said about swearing, becoming monotonous and dull.

art, culture and technology from San Francisco and beyond.

Gordon Ramsay To Cut Down On TV Swearing @ Unreality TV

Celebrity chef, Gordon Ramsay, has revealed that he is trying to cut down on the amount of swear words he uses whilst filming his TV shows.

Swearing on TV has been going on for a long time now it seems to be part of the English language with even the youngest in society swearing. But I do wish that the so called stars and entertainers just called time on it. …

Violence, swearing and disruption in our schools – The Star

Violence, swearing and disruption in our schools – A DISTURBING picture of violence, foul language and disruptive behaviour in South Yorkshire schools is revealed today in a major survey carried out by a top teaching union.

So, is it an effective way to communicate?… Let me know what you think… I am interested.

Swearing can be associated with Anger and Conflict. Take a look at my other posts, they will be of interest to you;
